Leah Walks All Over Cancer

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. In October 2016, I went to the doctors with a water infection. I was prescribed a course of antibiotics. Once I completed the course, the water infection hadn't cleared up so I went back to the doctors, who prescribed me with another course of antibiotics. This happened again until I realised something could be seriously wrong. My GP referred me for an ultrasound who referred me to Urology at Kings Mill. I had numerous tests and scans before finally receiving my diagnosis in January 2017. Those 2 months were so uncertain because I knew something was wrong but knew I had to wait and get on with my life as best as I could. I was suffering with lower abdominal pain and extreme fatigue. As time went on, I started to notice I was peeing blood. In April 2017 I had key hole surgery to remove my right kidney. I was in Derby Royal for 2 nights and after 6 weeks of rest, I was back at work. I owe my life to the NHS for acting promptly to stop the cancer spreading. In an attempt to prolong my life and prevent getting cancer again, I am losing weight. So far I have lost 5 stones! So in order to boost my weight-loss, I’m walking 10,000 steps a day throughout the month to help beat cancer sooner. Help me Walk All Over Cancer and fund life-saving research by sponsoring me.
