My Story

I’m taking part in Pretty Muddy this May to raise money for the countless people who are suffering because of cancer — people’s children, parents, grandparents, friends, and loved ones. Cancer doesn’t discriminate, and almost everyone knows someone whose life has been changed by it. This is deeply personal to me. I’ve lost several members of my family to cancer, including my nan and my grandpop (grandad). Losing them left a hole in my heart that will never truly heal. They are always with me, and every muddy step I take is for them, and for everyone still fighting or missing someone they love. I am also experiencing, first hand, my extended family battling every day with the effects of cancer, and I want to do everything I can, however big or small to try and help win this battle. I’m doing this in the hope that, one day, fewer families will have to experience this pain — that more children will grow up with their parents, and more grandparents will be around to make memories.
