In memory of
Andrew Carroll
26th Oct 1964 - 5th Feb 2019
In February of last year, my mum lost her husband, Andy, after a long battle with cancer. Then, in December of 2019 we lost another close family friend. This, whilst horribly upsetting, is all too common, and I guarantee everyone reading this has been effected by this debilitating disease. So now, 1 year on from losing Andy, I'm going to Rocky-montage train for a run that most people can do on a Tuesday morning before work, to raise a bit of cash for a great charity. I know, I know, some people do 5k in their lunch break, or even for 'fun'. I am not one of those people. This will be a challenge. But, I want to do something, anything, to help support and thank those that do the work year round to try and avoid stories like mine and my family's. Andy was a good man, who loved my mum more than anything, and to honour him by awkwardly running around Notts would give him a giggle, I reckon. Anything you can give would be so appreciated, or even just sharing to those who can throw a quid or two this way. If anything, rather than drowning in grief, we can be united in the fact that we are trying to do something, together. Thanks so much, Lauren x
