My Story
I am taking part in the Race for Life Pretty Muddy 5K in May 2020. I am doing this in memory of two very important people in my life, who lost their fight. My Dad: Three years ago my dad lost his fight to cancer. This was just 5 days after my wedding, which he was not able to attend because he was so poorly. There isn’t a single day that goes by when I don’t miss him and wish I could talk to him. Lynda: Last year, my beautiful friend and colleague, Lynda Spargo also passed away after a long fight for her life. Lynda was my work mum. She supported me in my first year of teaching so much. Any single thing I needed help with, Lynda would be there and I wish I let her know how much this meant to me. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Almost every single one of us is affected in some way. I am taking part in the Race for Life Pretty Muddy 5K to raise some money to get that statistic to a better place. People should not be losing their loved ones to such a cruel disease.
