My Story
Kirstie, Mum and I have decided to take part in this year’s Race for Life Pretty Muddy event. Cancer came barging into our world in 2016 with my beautiful sister Kirstie’s diagnosis of stage 4 bowel cancer. She has been so lucky to have received amazing support and treatment and she is currently classed as NED (no evidence of disease). We are so thankful every day for the treatment Kirstie has had and are forever grateful for the chance she has been given to move forward and enjoy life surrounded by us all. We have lost some very very special people to this cruel disease over the years, one being my wonderful Father-in-Law, Terry, and we will be racing for him and racing for all those who are in the midst of treatment at the moment! Those of you that know us ‘Wardies’ well, will know how much we prefer Cif and ‘pine fresh’ to mud and obstacle courses but we thought it was something challenging and fun to do to celebrate being alive and raise money for such a worthy cause. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
