My Story
In January this year I started volunteering in the local Cancer Research UK charity shop. I fell in love with my volunteering straight away and absolutely love the time I spend in there. Ive learnt a lot of what the charity does and where all the hard earned money from fundraising, donations and shops goes. It does make a difference. Sadly also in January I lost the dearest of friends. A very special lady who was kind, loyal, loving and funny. She was always the first there to help you with anything, even if she wasnt doing so good herself. She had to fight cancer more than once, and did it in true Angie style. I saw how her battle and her passing affected not just her, but her family, friends and the whole street. Cancer will effect everyone in one way or another. In a recent conversation with my shop manager about desperately needing a haircut he suggested just shaving it off for charity, I still don't know if he was joking, but it made sense. I needed a haircut, charity needs money, too lazy to run the race for life... so, here we are! On the 1st of June I will be having my head shaved live on Facebook for all to see. So if you can, a quid or more, all donations are and will be gratefully received 😁 Thanks guys.
