In memory of
Faye Low
I am walking the Shine Night Walk in September and raising money for cancer research in memory of my beloved friend Faye. I have known Faye since I was born and she was like a second sister to me. Faye was first diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer in July 2018. Then told she had metastatic (or secondary) brain cancer in January 2021. Between those times were many ups and downs for Faye and her family and this continued to more recent days. Faye passed away on Sunday 18th July. I will be forever grateful for having the opportunity to see her just before she passed. I quote someone else's comment on Faye's FB page which I couldn't have put better myself: ' So many lives have breathed easier because you have lived. That's quite a legacy to leave behind.' And nothing I can do can equal what she did for others and her family throughout her whole life. I hope that at least some of this legacy will continue to live through the people who surround her family, and surrounded her, with love. To say that I am in awe of her and her family, for the strength, courage and determination they have shown even when they feel broken, is an understatement. Raising money for Cancer Research UK is just a small part of what I can personally do. I am doing this for Faye and for her family as well others who have had/ going through a similar experience. If you would like to read more about Faye's journey then please search for her blog 'Return of the Beast' on Facebook or visit: https://www.returnofthebeast.net/ Thank you. xxx 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s ground breaking work. Donate to my Giving Page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
CAUSE
Breast cancer
With almost 140 women diagnosed every day, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. And, although rarer, around 350 men are also diagnosed with breast cancer every year. The good news is more than two-thirds of women now survive 20 years or more. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to diagnose and treat the disease.
