Team Coventry, Rugby and Kenilworth at Nationwide Building Society are walking 10,000 steps each every day this March for Cancer Research UK.

In memory of

Robert 'Bob' Belson

My Story

Firstly, thank you for visiting our fundraising page. This March my team and I at Nationwide Building Society in Coventry, Rugby and Kenilworth will be walking 10,000 steps a day each, throughout the month to help beat cancer. It is something close to all of our hearts, as it will be a lot of yours too. We would like to dedicated our steps this month in memory Bob Belson. The Dad of our Senior Branch Manager, Dave - who has written a few words about his Dad. "My Dad, Bob as he was known recently passed away after a short prognosis of Pancreatic Cancer. He had also suffered Liver Cancer, Thyroid Cancer and skin cancer and passed away aged 78, on January 24th 2021. Dad, my best friend, Husband and Granddad, was a lively, outgoing individual who loved family, sports and a pint of beer!!! He loved nothing more than spending time with is family and was such a superb person. I decided to do this step challenge as feel that while Dad has battled two types of Cancer and survived thanks to the NHS, we can still do more and more to help prolong, save and prevent this terrible disease. Going through the experience of being diagnosed multiple times is very sole destroying and I was incredibly proud of my Dad for how he remained optimistic, positive and wanted to everyone else to live their life remembering the positives instead of being sad for his loss. He had no regrets, and only wanted to spend his last days with those that mattered - Whilst I am incredibly sad, he would be so proud of me and the team for taking on this challenge and it means so much more knowing that I am doing this for him and his name. I urge you all to do this challenger, for your own health, ,but to help raise valuable funds to this cause and to help many more stay alive and be with their families. Thank you to the team and you for reading, I wish you all well and look forward to the challenge throughout March" Dave Please Help us Walk All Over Cancer and fund life-saving research by making a donation to our page. Even the smallest of Donations can make a such an impact and difference to Cancer Research UK.
