I'm taking part in Race for Life to raise money to beat cancer

4 years ago my dad was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and the diagnosis hit him and the whole family like a tonne of bricks. At that time I had no idea I would get to have another 4 years with him by my side, making me laugh, annoying me daily, forgetting my birthday or baking amazing bread (if you ask me, the best hobby he ever decided to take up).
The time has flown by, and its only now with cancer threatening to rear its ugly head again, that I have stopped to realise how lucky I am to have this extra time with him.
Around 15 people are diagnosed with myeloma every day, let alone the other 199 cancer types, and without charities like cancer research doing what they do so many people would be missing out on time with those they love. I’m sure most people reading this will have been affected by cancer in some way which is I’m asking you to dig deep and sponsor me!
A 10k run may not sound like much to some, but for this couch potato it will be quite the challenge! I’ll be running with my wonderful best friend Becci, whose page is linked to this one, go and have a read of her reasons to run!
Thank you in advance for your donations to this brilliant cause xx
