Laura's Race for Life

My story in a nutshell: 31/01/12 I was diagnosed with cervical cancer which concluded with me having a radical hysterectomy & thankfully was given the all clear in 2014. In March 2018 I was admitted into hospital with suspected kidney stones but unfortunately a scan showed a tumour which was causing pressure on my kidney. On 11/06/18 I started 7 weeks of chemoradiotherapy which consisted of radiotherapy 5 days a week for 7 wks & a chemo session once a week for 5 wks. Thankfully, this treatment has been completed but its now a waiting game to see if its been successful or if more surgery is required. Cancer not only affects the person diagnosed but also their family and friends. Its a horrible disease which I hope and pray we can 1 day find a cure for. I have witnessed so many people suffering over the last 7wks but know there have been many many many before.....I would love for all the pain & suffering to end.
