My Story

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy again to raise money and save lives. As most people know, my mum was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in 2013. After 4 long years of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery, she sadly lost her battle with cancer and passed away on the 2nd October 2017, with my auntie and I holding her hand until the very end. She was a strong woman who never wanted to give up, it’s so hard to imagine your life without someone you love, but when they leave it’s the hardest thing to deal with and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. The reason I am going this run (again) is because I want to raise money and awareness of breast cancer, especially the triple negative breast cancer and the BRCA1 gene. Losing my mum in such a cruel way has hit me hard, I want to raise money to fund more research in helping people with the triple negative breast cancer. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure.
