London - Battersea Park 5k 2017
Wed 7 Jun 2017
This year, one of my close friends lost her sister to Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. She was only 30. So this year, I'm running Race for Life in memory of Alex, who was cruelly taken too early by this crappy disease. Alex was diagnosed in November 2015, aged 28, and spent the next year going through biopsies, chemo and a stem cell transplant. She wrote about what she was going through on her inspirational blog (http://alexisallin.com/) - which I'd encourage you to read. Myself and a few colleagues ('Team Policy) will be running the 5k Battersea Race for Life. So if you can spare a couple of quid would be much appreciated. For the competitive amongst you, we also have a ‘guess our collective total time’ sweepstake (£2 to enter, 10 people in the team!). You’ll win something, in addition to the kudos of being a sweepstake champ. If you wish to donate time instead of money, please sign up as a blood donor instead. 1 in 2 people will now be diagnosed with cancer. Survival rates are improving, but we need to keep investing in research. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
