My Story
As most of you know this is something very close to my heart. In 2019 my husband Chris was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma. A very rare form of Cancer. At 35 years old you don’t imagine your world been turned upside down & hearing that dreaded word. After the initial shock & numerous appointments we decided there was only one option for us, we fight it head on & make it fit into our life. We knew that it was going to be a rough ride but as a team we would do everything we could to beat it. The emotional roller coaster we’ve been on has been difficult to say the least. Chris rang the bell once but unfortunately it came back. Unfortunately on the 4th January 2023 Chris passed away his body could no longer fight off this horrible disease the chemo had taken its toll on his body. To say Chris fought to the end is an understatement he’s the strongest person I’ve ever met he never complained he got on with the fight & I couldn’t be more prouder so it’s now my turn to make him proud. I can’t thank the staff at St James hospital & St Gemma’s hospice enough from Chris’s consultant, to the staff looking after him on the wards they were brilliant throughout his care, so I decided to give a little back. In September I’ve set my biggest challenge to date I will be on the road cycling 980 miles from Lands End to John O Groats across 9 days. This is nothing compared to what people have to go through to beat this awful disease. I’m asking for your help to get behind me to raise as much funds as possible to help fund resources so people can fight this disease. Any donation is hugely grateful. Much love xx
