Ladies Afternoon Tea Party

On Friday 21st July a 'Ladies Afternoon Tea' was held to raise money for Miles for Mitchie with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK. There were so many people involved in making this event such a success, in spite of the weather, and so many wonderful people to thank for making it possible. Roddas Good Deeds who in conjunction with Tiptree Jams supplied the jam and cream for our scones free of charge. Waitrose Weston Super Mare for donating baking ingredients, butter and sandwich fillings. The lovely Geoff who painstakingly drilled 26 plates to make our beautiful cake stands. Delicious cakes freshly baked and given so generously, raffle prizes and items for the 'bring and buy' My wonderful friends who gave up their time both before and during the event but mostly thank you everyone who contributed to this worthwhile charity. Cancer is something that most people are touched by in one way or another and any help we can give to eradicate this invasive illness is time and money well spent. We made £525.50 on the day plus another £41.03 in the sealed charity box for the 'bring and buy' a total of £566.53 but it's not too late to add a donation if you so wish.
