Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy to raise money and save lives for the people affected by cancer. It's that time of the year again to think of all the loved ones we have lost to this horrible disease. In 2014 my mother sadly lost her battle against cancer. She was so amazingly brave during her long journey. She was first diagnosed with cancer in 2008. She underwent intense treatment and to our amazement she fought it and was in remission. Unfortunately my world came crumbling down when we learnt that her cancer had returned. Once again she fought bravely against this disease but despite her strong will and determination she finally lost her battle against cancer. Not a day goes by where I don't think about my mother. The pain and sadness is still there and I will never ever forget what an inspirational woman she was. Recently I have become a mother myself and it breaks my heart that she is not here to see her grandson but I'm sure she is watching down on us like an angel. I only get peace knowing that her pain and suffering has stopped and she is in a better place now, in heaven. This is my 10th consecutive year doing the Race for Life. I want to continue to support this worthwhile charity because I want to help support people who are fighting cancer and hopefully find a cure so people do not lose a close family member to cancer like I have.
