My Grandad Brian and for my Grandma and Great Auntie
I completed the Race For Life once when I was a child, before Cancer had affected my family. Now, 12 years later I’ve decided to do it again down south with my friends as there isn’t any events near me anymore and I’ve since lost my Grandad to Lung Cancer nearly 6 years ago, watched my Grandma go through Breast Cancer two years ago as well as my Great Auntie going through chemotherapy during the pandemic. I’m also doing it for anyone who is affected by Cancer around the country. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
