My family and friends who have been left changed forever because of cancer.
It seems as though everyone is affected by cancer in some way. I’ve had family suffer and taken because of this awful disease. My motivation for signing up to the 10k is not due to my own heartache. It is the pain I feel knowing that people I love are living their lives with a gap. People I love who I wish I could do more to take that heartache away. People who will always now have an empty place at times in their lives where they should be at their happiest, they will now always have a sadness because someone is missing. This is why I’m taking on this challenge. If I can in some way help to prevent someone else having to live a life with a gap, I will.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
