I’m taking part in Shine Night Walk to help beat cancer

My Dad and I are doing The Shine Walk in Leicester in memory of my beautiful Mum, Lyn,who we lost on 18th May this year to stomach cancer, just 6 weeks after receiving her full diagnosis.
Unfortunately, the form of stomach cancer that Mum had is extremely rare and by the time there are any symptoms it is too late to treat. Hopefully, one day, this will no longer be the case - I hope that Cancer Research will find a way to detect all cancers earlier and also, a cure for them.

Cause

Bowel cancer

Over the past 40 years there's been dramatic progress in tackling bowel cancer and half of people diagnosed will now survive for at least 10 years. But with bowel cancer still claiming around 43 lives each day, more research still needs to be done. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease.
