My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. I race for life in memory of my amazing Dad who lost his fight against the big C in 2006. As you know I work for the NHS and as I see and hear about the treatments now in the fabulous Queens Centre we have at CHH, I wonder daily if only we had those facilities and treatment then...….Life is cruel and the big C took away my Dad far too soon, with so much still to live for. The big C also killed a bit of me by taking him. This year the plan was to run the race for life with my work-wife Sam, but as we are only ever seen together on Wednesdays - why should this weekend be any different! I am now completing the Pretty Muddy event on Saturday 6th July and Sam will run the 5k on Sunday 7th. I have recruited Warren this year to join me (at 13 he can do the assault course). My Dad hung on to meet Warren and died when Warren was just 5 1/2 weeks old. We keep my Dad's memory very much alive in our house and he will never be forgotten. Please support this charity to help us find a cure of this killer! (and don't forget to tick the Gift Aid box - it won't cost you any more )
