My Story
As some of you may know I have been unlucky enough to have 2 cancers, NET (neuroendocrine cancer) with primary in the pancreas and 2 years ago diagnosed with Myeloma. I have had half my pancreas and all my spleen removed, 3 liver resections from the spread to my liver, my gall bladder removed and then a year of leutitium treatment - for the first cancer. For myeloma I had two fractures in my spine (resulting in the diagnosis), had chemo and thalidomide treatment, have had 2 stem cell transplants, lost my hair twice and am now on lifetime chemo maintenance. But I am still alive 8 and a half years on. Cancer research is vital, which is why I (and the dogs) are taking part in the Basingstoke Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me. 😊
