Kim's Race for Life

Cancer affects so many families, mine included. Back in 2007 my beautiful nan was dignosed with bladder cancer, she was strong and gave it a good fight, not long after she was super brave having her bladder removed and living with a stoma bag, which just became part of her. After living her life to the full, and sharing lots of wonderful memories we then got the devastating news when in 2016 she got dignosed with oesophageal cancer. Again she wasn’t going to let this beat her. Throughout her treatment she was alway positive having a smile on her beautiful face. Unfortunately I’m June last year the fight got too much and she grow her wings up to heaven. After our loss we all stayed strong and positive for my grandad who has had his own battle with prostrate cancer. He stayed strong and kept us all laughing and smile sharing our last memorable Christmas and new year, he kept fighting staying with us for his birthday January this year. But the fight, hurt and loss of my nan got too much for my darling grandad who grow his wings and fly up to spend his resting days with me nan. There both looking down at us arm in arm. ? After such a hard year loosing the rocks of our family Abigail and I want to make this experience a positive one and to able to raise as much as we can. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
