Kim's Race for Life

Everyone seems to know someone who has suffered from this vile disease. Unfortunately I fall in to this category many times over, with both family and friends going and gone through it, and would love to help in some way by raising money to help find the next breakthrough treatment. Someone very close to us all is currently being treated for metastatic disease. I am continually amazed by the treatment and management options available to him but this is only possible by research which is in turn only possible through funding. He and countless others receive the most up to date and efficient treatment and care for their cancer in a fabulous day unit in an NHS hospital who also utilise and rely on extra funding from Cancer charities to make their and their families journey slightly more bearable. The fact that he is able to access this treatment in this setting with the level of expertise that is on offer is a great source of comfort to his family. We want this to be the same for everyone but that relies on funding to find new cutting edge treatments and fund staff to run these units.
