In memory of
My Lovely auntie Linda
Back in 2009, I was diagnosed with Estrogen receptor positive, breast cancer in my right breast. I celebrated seven years of being all clear. A few weeks later I was diagnosed again with breast cancer. This time in the left breast, spreading into my lympth nodes. The lovely Henry and his fantastic team at the RVI, filled me with confidence and a few laughs after my 'suck it and see' comment. Thanks to the Oncotype DX test to find out how likely I was to benefit from chemotherapy after breast cancer surgery and research into the benefits of full axilla clearance, I avoided chemotherapy and reduced risk of lymphedema and chronic pain. Six months later, many trips to Newcastle and three solid weeks of radiotherapy, I ringing the end of treatment bell as a symbol of all not only my hard work, but the hard work of all the staff at the RVI and Freeman hospitals and especially the support of my lovely family. Thank you to all the staff, volunteers, family and friends. Every second is appreciated. F**k you cancer! 🖕🏽😝
