My Story
In June 2017 I discovered a strange, black mole on my upper thigh. Within a fortnight it had been removed, and on the 2nd of August I was diagnosed with Stage II Malignant Melanoma. On the 7th of September I had minor surgery to remove a larger margin of skin from my thigh to see if the melanoma had spread to the lymph nodes. The procedure was quick and painless, the wait for the results was not. I stressed myself out in the weeks leading to my results. My anxiety had been through the roof, and it was so hard to keep a positive outlook on things. Yet thanks to my family and friends, I made it through in one piece. On the 24th of October 2017, I finally received the news that the cancer had not spread and had been successfully removed.
