My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. Cancer is a horrible killer. You never know when it could affect you or somebody you love. I am racing, not because I am athletic (because I am actually one of the slower runners!) but because we need to beat Cancer. As I run, every second will be for all those who have suffered and it will drive me on to pass that finish line. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
