All those affected by this horrible disease, both fighters and family or friends of fighters.
This will be my 13th Race For Life event. I do this for a few family members and friends who have fought and lost their battles. I also do this for those who have fought and won. Last year and this year are something of milestones as last year was the 20th anniversary of the passing of Grandad Joe, and this year is the 10th anniversary of the passing of Grandad Wally; both of whom are still greatly loved and missed. This is also for Grandad Maurice, Auntie Margaret, Pauline, Tom, Bess and mum (who won). And for everyone who has been diagnosed, lost, won or knows someone who has been affected.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
