Mum and I have decided to do Race for Life in memory of our friend, Steve, who died in March this year.
In memory of
Steve
We are cutting it fine with just over a week to go, but what we lack in preparation, we make up for in enthusiasm! This is too important a cause to let a lack of organisation stop us doing something: to celebrate Steve’s life, to show support for his wife and 2 young sons (also good friends of ours), to do our bit so that other families don’t have to experience this horrible, cruel disease. Steve was unlucky to have been diagnosed with Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer. Despite a number of treatments, it was too late for Steve. However, there are many up and coming trials of new treatments for cancer and it is vital that money can be raised to ensure more lives are saved in the future. Please give generously to support saving lives in the future. It is a devastating fact that 1 in 2 people will get cancer at some point in their lives.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
