My Story
After a year where vital cancer trials have been delayed, the Race for Life is more important than ever. That's why I'll be taking part in the Race for Life at Home, pretty muddy in September and the Race for Life in October with Paul. Between now and my 2nd race for life event in October, I will also be doing virtual walking challenges....starting with Hadrian's Wall at 90 miles, Ring of Kerry at 124 miles, then onto The Great Ocean Road at 149 miles and finishing off with The Inca Trail at 29.2 miles. As many of you know my mum passed away with breast cancer 26 years ago at the young age of 45. My 99 year old nan and Paul have both had Basel Cell Carcinoma. Not only this but many other family and friends have been affected by this horrible disease one way or another and we need to do what we can to stop it. Over the last 20 years I have been fortunate enough to take part in numerous events to raise awareness for Cancer Research UK. These include: various newspaper articles, being on the back of the first set of Hallmarks mothers day cards back in 2018, being on the back of Graze products (also in 2018), taking part in 2 TV adverts, being in the welcome packs for the race for life events, and being a part of the Tesco Super Team at Battersea Park since 2016 where I have had the opportunity to speak on stage and start the race twice. Every pound you can donate will go towards Cancer Research UK’s ground-breaking work, so please sponsor me today!
