In memory of my Nan who died of pancreatic cancer on 16/11/17

In memory of

Ann Veronica Weir

6th Apr 1937 - 16th Nov 2017

My Story

My nan was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in June 2017. Pancreatic cancer has very low survival rates - around 20 in every 100 (around 20%) survive their cancer for 1 year or more after they are diagnosed, almost 5 out of every 100 (almost 5%) survive their cancer for 5 years or more, and only 1 out of every 100 (1%) will survive their cancer for 10 years or more after diagnosis. My nan only lived 156 days past the date she was diagnosed. I want to raise as much to find a cure as I possibly can.

CAUSE

Pancreatic cancer

Survival rates for pancreatic cancer remain stubbornly low in the UK, often because the disease is diagnosed late and is difficult to treat. Help Cancer Research UK make progress in one of the biggest research challenges its scientists are facing – to find better ways to detect and treat the disease.
