I am taking part in this years shine for London half marathon, along with some other friends and family, to raise awareness for ovarian cancer in memory of our dear friend Kirsty , who sadly passed away last October 2021 from ovarian cancer aged only 47 years old . Kirsty was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 39 and battled with it for nearly 7 years , she briefly was in remission in 2016 but sadly the cancer returned again a few years later . Kirsty was cruelly taken from her lovely family and friends too soon . She was an amazing friend to many , a great teacher , wife , daughter, sister , auntie and an amazing mummy to her 3 lovely children Alice , Oliver and Eliza . She will be sadly missed by all . Kirsty was a very positive person and even during her Terrible illness , she still managed to stay positive and continued to think of others , raising money and Awareness of ovarian cancer . Even in her last few weeks she still raised a smile and a joke . Kirsty loved to walk so what better way to remember her and continue her fight for ovarian cancer research.
