I'm walking to raise awareness, raise money and challenge myself.
My Story
This time last year I underwent surgery to remove a cancer tumour from my bowel. I am a young, fit, otherwise healthy person who doesn't smoke or have a history of cancer in my family...so should have had a very low risk of developing this disease. Sharing my story is not an easy thing for me to do. I hope to raise some money towards valuable research but highlight that this can happen to healthy people. I still find it difficult to believe it happened to me. Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer. But we can’t stop there. Only with continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work.

CAUSE
Bowel cancer
Over the past 40 years there's been dramatic progress in tackling bowel cancer and half of people diagnosed will now survive for at least 10 years. But with bowel cancer still claiming around 43 lives each day, more research still needs to be done. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease.
