My Story
We did it! A fab team effort, everyone finished and everyone did well with big smiles at the end. Well done all. Great that we hit our sponsorship target too for Cancer Research. Big thanks to all those who sponsored us. Nigel says he is now hanging up his running shoes so any ideas on what challenge we can set him next appreciated! Nigel and myself are taking part in the Ironbridge half marathon on the 24 march, alongside a team from work. (see our team page). Nigel has worked particularly hard in his training, consistently running 11 miles which is a massive achievement for him as he is a "I hate running" kind of guy! Unfortunately my training has been hampered by a knee injury I sustained in November. (I ran into some railings!), hence my training has been walking with a little running and so Sunday is going to be tough both with pain and lack of fitness. However I signed up and I will give it my best. The rest of our team have also worked hard. Kayleigh and Tom and Phil are all non-runners and Claire runs short distances only, hence this is a massive challenge for them all. They have all done extremely well and I'm proud to take part alongside them all. Obviously you are aware that Cancer has bought great pain and sorrow to me. Both losing my Mom and my best friend Juliet to the dreadful disease. Therefore any money raised for Cancer Research is massively important to me. I therefore ask if you are able to please donate. The team deserve it and we all are desperate to try and beat cancer. Please donate to our page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
