My Story
I’m raising money for Stand Up To Cancer to help fund life-saving research. Cancer changes lives, and so does this marvellous charity. A routine blood test last summer led to me being diagnosed with prostate cancer. After my prostate was removed at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (Wonford) in August, I was told that a pre-op scan had also revealed cancer on my right lung. A third of the lung was subsequently removed in Bristol Royal Infirmary in January. It's hard to put into words how much my wife, Jeanette, and I have appreciated the care I received from the wonderful NHS staff - at Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital, in Exeter and also in Bristol. Indeed, they say action speak louder than words and that's why we staged a charity dance at Wellington Football Club on Saturday, May 27th. We were delighted that the wonderful Stuart Horne provided 'One Night With Elvis' - there was also a ploughman's supper and raffle with some great prizes. It was a fantastic night but you if you'd like to make a donation, you're in the right place! Your cash will support researchers to get new tests and treatments across the line faster, so more lives get saved. Please dig deep and donate, because if we work together, we can help beat cancer at its own game. Thank you.
