My Story

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life Pretty Muddy to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. I was struggling to know what to write on the sticker to pop on my back. Who am I running for?? Do you know what I know I’m not different from anyone else in that I’ve grown up knowing so many people whose lives (and the people around them) have been touched by cancer. My uncle died really young after being misdiagnosed, my mum survived breast cancer and I don’t think the consequences and fear of having had it will ever leave her. My amazing friend and dance teacher survived bowel cancer and I know her life will never be the same either… so many other brave people have stories to tell and it’s so humbling, but quite frankly scares me silly. Please get yourself checked if you think you have possible symptoms, lumps or bumps or unusual bleeding or bowel habits. I don’t think anyone is immune.
