Keely: "Sadly many of us are familiar with this dreaded disease these days. Whether it be a relative or friend or relative of a friend or work colleague. I've personally experienced some great tragedies and thankfully have also witnessed some great successes. Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Anyone that knows me, knows that I haven't been the fittest of people over the years, until I decided late last year that I wanted to push myself to do this marathon, in aid of all of my close friends and family who have been and are still affected by cancer. I would like to make a difference if I can, so I signed up to complete this 26.2 mile marathon in London on 23rd September 2017, and have been in training for it since. My cousin Clare also agreed to join me, as its very close to her heart too. And I can't wait to have her by my side as we do this together. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives.
