My Story
As many of you know, my sister Kerry was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer at the start of the year. She is only 38 years old with a 5 year old daughter and 13 year old son. Cancer can affect anyone, even if you are young and lead a healthy lifestyle. I’m racing for (and with) my sister, who has been my best friend for my whole life. I can’t imagine my life without her in it, and it’s only through fundraising and research that treatment is able to progress and lives are able to be saved. I’m also racing for Nanny Shelia who lost her battle with breast cancer many years ago. She may be gone, but she lives on through us. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
