My Story
My mum Sarah and I, took part in the 2018 Cancer Research UK Race for Life and loved it. We volunteered to take part again this year with Jackie and her daughter, my friend Olivia, on Sunday 7 July. We are taking part in memory of two very special people. My late Granddad Bryan Woods, who sadly lost his battle with cancer in July 2011 and Mums best friend Sarah's mum, Anne Kings who passed away from non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in January 2018. We wanted to support Jackie and Olivia, who are taking part in memory of Jackie's late partner, Andrew Flecknell, who died a day after receiving his diagnosis of cancer in 2018 aged 47 and her Dad, Brian Gale, who died a year after Andrew with dementia and cancer, aged 76. We will be incredibly grateful for, and encouraged by, any donation, no matter how small. We know that, sadly, we can’t bring back our loved ones, but we want to honour their memories and be part of research into crushing cancer and saving lives in the future. Every penny we raise will go towards this vital work. That’s our collective wish. Thank you in advance from The Wishful Walkers Kaylee, Olivia, Sarah and Jackie XXXX
