Katy's Race for Life

I’ll never forget the words my Mum said after her first consultant appointment; “It’s good news... it’s cancer.” Cancer is of course never good news, and I remember how I felt my heart crash to the bottom of my stomach. But what she meant was that they had managed to catch it so early that her chances of recovery were really high. And she has fully recovered, with the support from a fantastic team at the NHS. But it made me realise how close we could have come, and how the story could have been so different, which is unfortunately so often the way for so many other people. That’s why the work Cancer Research UK are doing is so important. So please help me raise money to eliminate cancer for good, so that every child can keep their parent, their sibling, their best friend, or whoever is affected in their lives.
