My Story
Hi, my name is Katie and I’m participating in the Race For Life 3K in Poole, Dorset. When I was little my Uncle Andy was diagnosed with cancer. As I was a child I don’t remember much about it but I do remember my uncle. He was the most kind and caring person and loved me and my brother very much. In October 2015, my uncle passed away at the age of 47 because his body reacted badly to the treatment. So in memory of him I am participating in this race. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour.
