Cancer affects so many people , and know how detrimental it can be for people and families.In 2019 , my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer . This was devastating news for our family at the time which affected us all . My mum had a lumpectomy and underwent radiotherapy treatment . Thanks to all of the amazing cancer care from Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and Hillingdon Hospital , fortunately my mum beat cancer . After the events of last year , it has encouraged me to take part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives . 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, and for this reason I believe it is so important to raise as much money as possible to help Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work , and every single pound you donate makes a difference ,so please sponsor me now.

Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
