Katie and Friends Race for Life
Bristol 5k 2018
Sun 1 Jul 2018
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. At the age of 44 with no family history of cancer on 28 Dec 2017 I was diagnosed with grade 3 invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer). I had 6 rounds of chemo every three weeks from 15 January 2018 until the last one on 30 April. I then had Lumpectomy surgery to remove the lump from my breast and also all lymph nodes on 1 June and I will need to have a minimium of 3 weeks of radiotherapy after I have recovered from the surgery. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
