My Story

1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime - we all know at least one or two people who have suffered with it. Chances are, we also all know someone who has died from it. I lost my dad in 2008 to terminal brain cancer. He was 51 years old, fit, healthy, and looked after his mind and body. However, just 18 months after his diagnosis, he was gone. His cancer was a total shock and completely unexpected. When my dad died, the statistic was 1 in 3 rather than 1 in 2, but as the number of diagnoses has increased, so has the chance of survival. It's thanks to charities like Cancer Research UK that have helped fund the necessary research. So this year I've decided to help out a little by joining the Race for Life (again!), so please do donate if you can, or just share if not. Also this year's Worthing Race for Life falls on my 28th birthday so it felt fitting! Thank you <3
