My Story
Woof Walkies is a sponsored dog walk organised by a Cancer Research UK Committee Woof Walkies honours the life-long support and love our canine friends provide. The route will be on a mix of grass, surfaced lanes and woodland paths, not ideal for pushchairs On the day At Woof Walkies, dogs and their owners pay to take part in the sponsored dog walk around Waterlow Park– other family members are also welcome but the emphasis is on our canine friends as it is for these who sponsorship/donations to beat cancer will be obtained! On the day there will be: Refreshments A Raffle Stalls Dog Show Woof Walkies is a chance to spend a few hours with family, friends and your beloved dog in the great outdoors whilst raising those essential funds to research all 200+ cancers.
CAUSE
Lung cancer
Each year more than 43,500 people are diagnosed with lung cancer in the UK. We urgently need to drive progress so that more people survive their disease. Cancer Research UK is at the forefront in lung cancer research and is funding various projects to tackle the disease head on. This includes the TRACERx study, Cancer Research UK’s largest investment into lung cancer to date. This study has already transformed our understanding of how lung cancer evolves and is continuing to shed light on how to prevent, detect and treat the disease.
