My Story
Update: 6th September 2017 Less than two weeks after I applied to do the September 2017 Brixton Pretty Mudder 5k event, my father was suddenly diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer which had spread to his liver and lungs. Up to the day he entered the hospital for what we thought were routine tests, he was working out at the gym 4 times a week and was in college to become a Personal Trainer. He died 5 weeks and 3 days after his diagnosis. My sister and I, through the kindness of our husbands coping with the rest of our family lives, were able to stay in Devon and care for our Dad for that whole time. A few weeks later, I finally returned home having organised his funeral and affairs. That was only a matter of days ago and I don't feel ready emotionally, or physically, to take part in this event so soon. I'm sorry. I *will* sign up to the next one. I *will* do it and your donations won't have gone on nothing. It will be in memory of all those people below from my original post, but also, for my dad. . I'm keeping this page open for donations any time and will publicise the date when it's closer. Thanks for understanding. K ------------------------------------------- Original Post: My Mum has had it. My uncle was lost to it. My grandpa was lost to it. The mother of a wonderful friend was lost to it far too soon. Too many casualties to it. So I'm doing this to raise some pennies. It may not be a marathon, but it's something so I hope you'll consider a tenner or so... equivalent to a few hipster coffees... that's all. ------------ Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure.
