My Story

Nowadays most people are impacted by cancer at some time in their life- whether that be themselves or family members. It is a cruel disease that has taken members of my family. I've had family members that have fought hard to beat cancer and come out the other side. But sadly, like many, I've lost close relatives, including my grandparents to this awful disease. I have 2 very special ladies in my life currently fighting this cruel disease and I would love to raise money to help find a cure and support those suffering. Personally, my family are undergoing guidance from genetic counsellors to try and prevent me from ever having that awful diagnosis. It scares the life out of me that one day, a doctor could be telling me that dreadful news. I want to do all I can to stop that happening and if running 5k can contribute to funds to find a cure, then piggie over here will give it a go! Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
