My Story
This time last year, my Mum had been given the all clear after going through radiotherapy and chemotherapy to treat anal cancer. In late October, we found out that Mum's cancer had returned and had spread to her spine and lungs. Since then, she has been through more radiotherapy and is still going through chemotherapy now in order to keep the cancer standing still for as long as possible. It is absolutely heart-breaking for me to see my wonderful and vibrant Mum go through all that she has gone through in the last few years. I am thankful that I have been able to spend time with her during her treatments in hospital (fetching her hot chocolates to help fend off the pain of the cold cap!) and that I have been able to be a support to her while she has not been as mobile as normal. I would give anything to be able to make her better, however, as I am sadly lacking in my cancer fighting skills, I am going to do the next best thing and raise money for the boffins at Cancer Research. Please help me in kicking cancer's arse by sponsoring me to complete the Shine Night Walk in London on 23rd September. Together we will beat cancer sooner xxx Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK. Through a special arrangement, the funds raised on this page will be used to help Cancer Research UK to support their Anal/Bowel cancer research portfolio.

CAUSE
Bowel cancer
Over the past 40 years there's been dramatic progress in tackling bowel cancer and half of people diagnosed will now survive for at least 10 years. But with bowel cancer still claiming around 43 lives each day, more research still needs to be done. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease.
