Kathryn's Race for Life
Milton Keynes Pretty Muddy 5k 2019
Sat 7 Sep 2019 - Sat 7 Sep 2019
1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. That 1 was my grandad, that 1 is my mum. My mum had major surgery in June and at the end of the month, a week before I take part in this very muddy challenge, she will start chemotherapy. My mum is independent, strong, and funny, and has always been there for me, and having cancer hasn't changed that. If anything this journey so far has made her stronger and funnier and she is still there for me even when she is having a not so good day. I've run the Race for Life and Pretty Muddy multiple times as I know how important it is, but of all people you never expect your own mum to get Cancer, so this time is means even more. I am so proud of her. I am running for my grandad, I am running for my mum. Thank you to everyone that sponsors me! I take part in Pretty Muddy on Saturday 7th September. I can't promise I'll run all the way (I'm not a huge fan of running) but I'll give it my very best and get super muddy for the most amazing cause!!
