My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. My mum was the first person I knew personally who had cancer. After a 10 year fight, it finally beat her but her strength and dignity remains a complete inspiration to me. Several years later and there are too many friends; friends of friends; husbands; wives; partners ... who have been affected. Race for life is my small way of trying to make a difference. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
