Shine London 2019 - Half Marathon

In memory of
Helen Wakelen
This September Amy, Vicki and I are taking part in the Cancer Research Shine Half Marathon Walk to raise money for a charity that is close to all our hearts. This disease has impacted our lives directly; we are walking in memory of Amy's mum who passed away in 2018, for Vicki's Dad who was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer (although thankfully was treated successfully), and for both of my grandads who have suffered from bowel cancer. This list is not exhaustive, and sadly everyone knows someone who is fighting cancer. Please help by donating anything no matter how big or small, it all helps us bring forward the day when cancers are cured. Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further. Help Cancer Research UK improve results even faster.
