Kates challenge

My reason for running Race for Life - Well, I don't know anyone who has not been affected in some way by cancer. Everyone has their own story and thoughts/experiences of it, and although things have improved we're still a long way from being able to kick it up it's arse once and for all! For myself and sister, we've had the procedure to remove abnormal cells on our cervix that were found as part of a routine smear check. Ladies, please get them done! 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. 1 in 2. Statistically, as I am 1 of 4 siblings, that would mean 2 of us are likely to have cancer at some point in our lives. This statistic quite honestly scares the shit out of me. My strongest reason for running this though is not just what cancer can do to us physically, but how it effects our mental wellbeing too. Going through something like having cancer, or supporting a person through it and seeing them suffer, inevitably changes us. And so, I am jumping into my trainers and will make sure my arse gets through a 5k. It might not seem like a lot to some, but it's the little things in life that matter & for me will tick off one of my many challenges I have set myself physically and mentally. I'm not putting a total on as I feel people should donate what and if they want to. But I will be really grateful to anyone who does sponsor me. Thank you.
